One of the leading drug delivery development companies in Europe

Labtec did pioneer work in developing transdermal drug delivery systems.
Founded in 1990 as an independent start-up company, Labtec quickly became one of the leading drug delivery development companies in the transdermal and topical patch arena in Europe and has recently gone on to achieve similar status with oral films.

Labtec was founded by Dr. Cordes, a former management board member of Schwarz Pharma AG and a pioneer in transdermal drug delivery. In 2008 Labtec became a subsidiary of tesa SE.

In close collaboration with its partners and licensees, Labtec has created highly successful products for the market. The strength of Labtec is founded on the creativity, experience and commitment of its employees and is backed by international intellectual property rights.

Labtec has a proven track record of bringing products to the market. Our estradiol patch for hormone replacement therapy has been marketed in 41 countries worldwide since 1995. The fentanyl patch developed by Labtec, launched in 2005, has already conquered the European market and has moved into Canada as well. In Germany, by far Europe’s biggest market for fentanyl patches, our patch has become the number one selling product. The product is marketed by a number of well-known companies such as ratiopharm, Stada, Winthrop, and Actavis. Our anti-onychomycosis nail patch is the first and only one of its kind in the world, and our Cold Fleece vapor patch is an innovative treatment for common cold symptoms.
