Oral film technology: an innovative form of oral medication
Labtec's Rapidfilm®, a proprietary oral film technology, is an innovative oral dosage form that combines the application ease of a liquid with the stability and dosing accuracy of a tablet. Rapidfilm® dissolves in very small amounts of liquid and is therefore the ideal "medicine to go".
The purpose of the Rapidfilm® development was to create a drug product which would express the following properties when placed in the mouth: spontaneous disintegration when in contact with saliva, pleasant taste and good mouth feel.
Rapidfilm® dissolves in such a small quantity of liquid that no extra intake of liquid is necessary. Immediately dissolving and releasing the drug within seconds of coming into contact with saliva, Rapidfilm® is an excellent alternative to orodispersible tablets. Rapidfilm® is also perfectly suited for pediatric application and can be administered to children of all ages.
Complementing the Rapidfilm® technology, Labtec offers patented credit card-sized packaging which provides a convenient and patient-friendly alternative to single packed units.
